Welcome to Adastra Hall
The Adastra Hall is set in the beautiful Adastra Park, Hassocks and is very near Hassocks village and shops and about ten minutes walk from Hassocks Station. It is an attractive convenient and well equipped hall – basically an ideal venue for all types of occasion and activity for people of all ages including weddings, dinners, film shows, lunches, meetings, coffee mornings, concerts, exercise classes, and exhibitions. The hall is close by many shops including Budgens supermarket, a Post office, one Bank, a Building Society, restaurants, coffee shops, three schools, three Churches and a library. As well as acting as a focus for all sorts of village activities, it also attracts events from much further afield because of the excellent facilities on offer.
The hall capacity is 240 (including entertainers caters, helpers etc) and also for dancing and sitting at tables. For a seated function at tables such as a dinner the capacity is set at 130. There is a sprung wooden floor which is ideal for dancing. The hall has a large stage and Green Room which can be used for a dressing room or an all purpose room. This room has a small kitchen and uni-sex toilet. The Committee room is used for small events as well as Committee meetings seating sixteen people.
The Hall holds Scrabble sessions every Monday afternoon. It also has Table Tennis on Monday and Thursday afternoons – also Monday evening in the Green Room. Short mat bowls takes place every Tuesday morning and afternoon. All of these are on a ‘just drop in’ basis as they are not official clubs with no annual subscription payable. There is no commitment to attend every week – just whenever you feel like it.
The building is equipped with a modern fitted kitchen, new appliances, a microwave, dishwasher, large and small fridges, freezer, large oven and bain marie. There are two hatches one into the main hall and the other into the foyer.
The building has the benefit of full central heating and is equipped with a P.A. and loop system for those with impaired hearing. Ladies, gents and disabled toilets are situated within the foyer area with all up-to-date facilities. There is easy access for wheel chairs via the front entrance.
There is a car park adjacent to the hall.
